Denim Repair & Customizen
Personal Project
In this personal project, the wish of the customers comes first. I help people with this personal project by repairing their damaged 'denim' garments by letting them choose an embroidery style. With this choosen embroidery style I am going to repair their garements.
By doing this I also learn to practice my hand embroidery (as I have learned in Atelier 1) and learn new things about denim. I like to do the 'Denim Minor' at AMFI, and this is a good way for me to already prepare for it. I also have ambitions to do my internship at a denim brand.
Of each garement that I repaired I made an before and after photo collage to see the differences.
Bart.
Bart wanted me to repair his jeans. His right backpocket was ripped and he also wanted me to make some details on the other backpocket and on the pockets on the front. He wanted me to use all-white yarn and liked the idea of geometric lines and shapes.

Koen.
Koen wanted me to repair his old orange denim jacket. Fun fact: he used to wear this jacket when it was Queensday/Kingsday. But he didn't anymore because of the holes in it. His left elbow was ripped and also his right chest above his pocket was ripped. Koen wanted me to repair the holes with a different fabric so you can see some contrast. He likes contrast so maybe also work with contrast yarn.
